Staff Spotlight: Heather

Hello my name is Heather,

I joined the Pawderosa team a little over a year ago as a Client Service Specialist. As much as I loved seeing all the friendly human faces, a few months ago I realized my heart belonged out in the yard with your fur babies! I was then promoted to Lead Enrichment Specialist and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Dogs have always been a big part of my life since I can remember. When I was 10 years old, my Dad bought our first family puppy and she was the smartest dog I’ve ever had. A Blue Heeler named Allie. She is the reason I became so intrigued with dogs and wanting to teach them cool, new tricks. The passion of training followed me throughout my high school years and after graduating I pursued my dream of becoming a Certified Dog Trainer at the Animal Behavior College. While going to school, I was volunteering at local animal shelters to help train the dogs on basic commands hoping it might help them be adopted. One day I would like to see myself training dogs for the blind and deaf but until then, I like spending my time here at the ranch!
They are like one big family to me.What certifications do you have?
I have a certification in Basic Obedience Dog Training.

My favorite thing about the Ranch is that we all loo k out for each other even when the going gets tough. We genuinely love each and every dog like it’s one of our own. If it isn’t our Care Specialist rubbing your pup’s belly in their bunk, it’s our Enrichment Specialists playing fetch or tug-o-war in the yard till your pup needs a nap! Never a dull moment here at the Ranch. This is definitely the place you want your doggo to be while you’re away on vacation or at work!
