In Dog Parks, san antonio dog

November 17th is National Take a Hike Day, and there is no better hiking buddy than your pup! With so many trails to choose from, I’ve put together some of my pups’ personal favorite trails in San Antonio. Before hitting the trails check out my must have hiking gear for your pup!

Phil Hardberger Park:  This park is huge with two entrances and dog parks on both ends so you’ll definitely want to explore the map they have online before heading out for the day.

East Entrance:
13203 Blanco Road San Antonio, TX 78216

West Entrance:
8400 NW Military Hwy. San Antonio, TX 78230

O. P. Schnabel Park: I really enjoy this park. There are paved and unpaved paths, lots of shade trees, water fountains and benches throughout the trail. And the wildlife and scenic views you’ll see on the trail is amazing! Lots of squirrels, deer and birds to watch.

Entrance:
9606 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78250

Brackenridge Park: For being in the center of San Antonio, this park is peaceful and helps you unwind while sitting next to a river listening to the sounds of nature. My pups enjoy the scents and sounds from the Zoo too!

Entrance:
3903 N Saint Mary’s St, San Antonio, TX, US, 78212

Comanche Lookout Park: This is one of the shorter trails on my list but with the views this park gives it’s still worth mentioning. You’ll know what I mean if you’re able to make it to the top of the hill to see the tower!

Entrance:
15551 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78247

McAllister Park:
McAllister park is my absolute favorite. With less than a 10-minute drive from our Airport location I’m able to visit this park often! McAllister Park also has two entrances, but I like to park at the Dog Park entrance, so my pups have time to play with friends before exploring the trails.

Dog Park Entrance:
8418 Buckhorn Rd, San Antonio, TX 78247

Jones Maltsberger Entrance:
13102 Jones Maltsberger Rd, San Antonio, TX 78247
