Meet Bear the Big Doberman. Bear was a stray dog picked up by San Antonio’s Animal Control Services in late July. At the time he was rescued, Bear weighed an astounding 147 pounds! That’s about 70 pounds overweight!

When he arrived, he was suffering from a variety of health problems related to his weight including two ear infections, a hyper-thyroid, joint pain, high cholesterol, and depression. A vet quickly got Bear on a diet and exercise plan that included regular walks and four small meals of premium dog food each day. After only two months on his weight loss regiment, Bear is already down to 112 pounds and is happier and more active than ever.

Bear is doing great, but he still has a way to go. His goal is to get to 80 pounds and then find a forever home. You can do it Bear! Keep up the good work!
